Description

Replacement for and equivalent to Dow Corning DC-704.

Tetramethyl tetraphenyl trisiloxane. MT-704 diffusion pump fluid is a single component fluid for high vacuums of 10E-6 to 10E-8 torr, untrapped or 10E-10 to 10E-11, trapped. It performs well in tough, rugged applications and offers quick pumpdown, even after exposure to air at operating temperatures, although this is not recommended.

Appropriate for use in medium and large pumping speed diffusion pumps

Lower attainable pressure

Offers higher resistance to hydrolysis and oxidation

For diffusion bonding, vacuum metal casting, and other uses

Sold as DS-704, KJLC 704,and Invoil 704 elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Is MT-704 a direct replacement for Dow Corning DC-704?

Yes. MT-704 is equivalent to and a replacement for DC-704 — the same tetramethyl tetraphenyl trisiloxane chemistry sold elsewhere as DS-704, KJLC 704, and Invoil 704.

What vacuum level can it reach?

As a single-component fluid it supports high vacuums of 10E-6 to 10E-8 torr untrapped, or 10E-10 to 10E-11 torr with a trap.

What applications is it suited for?

It performs well in tough, rugged applications such as diffusion bonding and vacuum metal casting, and is appropriate for medium and large pumping-speed diffusion pumps.

What happens if the fluid is exposed to air?

MT-704 offers quick pumpdown even after exposure to air at operating temperatures, although operating that way is not recommended. It also offers higher resistance to hydrolysis and oxidation.

How much fluid do I get?

This listing is a 1 gallon container.
