Mesh numbers describe particle size by the screens the powder passes through. A -100 powder passes through a 100-mesh screen, and -200 is finer still. The -60/+325 grade passes a 60-mesh screen but is retained on a 325-mesh screen, so its particles sit in a defined size band.
