Description
2% thoriated tungsten wire (WT20), 0.0135" in diameter, supplied on a spool of 250 to 300 meters. The wire is electropolished and straightened.
Adding thoria to tungsten improves electron emission and keeps the wire stable at high temperature, which is why thoriated tungsten is used for filaments, cathodes and thermionic electron emitters.
