Description
Description
TZM molybdenum rod made to ASTM B387, Molybdenum Alloy 364 (powder-metallurgy TZM).
TZM is molybdenum alloyed with small amounts of titanium and zirconium (titanium 0.40–0.55%, zirconium 0.06–0.12%). These additions make it stronger than pure molybdenum at high temperature, improve its creep resistance and raise its recrystallization temperature, while keeping molybdenum's density of about 10.2 g/cm³ and its 2623 °C melting point.
Typical uses: vacuum and high-temperature furnace hardware such as heating-element supports, fixtures, fasteners and heat shields; hot-work tooling and die-casting cores; and other parts that must keep their strength at temperatures where pure molybdenum softens.
Diameters from 0.125" to 2.5" in 12" lengths, with many smaller diameters also stocked in 36", 48" and 1 meter lengths. All material is lot controlled, and material certifications are available on request with purchase.
