Laser & Water Jet Cutting

Due to the difficulty of cutting tungsten, MTS will utilize laser or waterjet cutting as necessary in order to meet customer requirements.

Laser cutting is best used for high volume parts made from sheet stock.

Waterjet cutting is better for smaller volume parts or for parts of thicker stock.

Both processes are relatively quick, but are not suitable for parts with tight dimensional tolerances.  For parts with high tolerances, we suggest EDM cutting.
